Who we are

Microphone audio
The app uses your device’s microphone to measure room noise, to remove background noise in real time (Live), and to record voice notes (Record). This audio is processed entirely on your device by the app’s built-in audio engine and AI noise-removal model.
- Live and Focus: audio is processed in memory as it arrives and is not saved.
- Record: a recording is kept in the app’s memory until you record again or close the app. It is written to storage only if you tap “Save”, and then only to the app’s private folder on your device.
- Audio is never uploaded, transmitted or shared with us or anyone else.
Information we collect
None. The app does not collect personal information, device identifiers, location, contacts, usage analytics or crash reports. It contains no advertising or analytics software, and the Android app does not request internet access.

This information stays on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
Permissions

You can turn off microphone access at any time in your device settings; the app will stop working until it is turned back on.
Sharing and selling
We do not share or sell any data, because we do not collect any. If you save a recording and share it using your device’s share options, that is between you and the app you share it with.
App stores
Google Play and the Apple App Store may collect information when you download or update the app, under their own privacy policies. We do not receive personal information from them beyond aggregated statistics such as install counts.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Not a medical device
Noise Shield is not a hearing aid or medical device and is not active noise cancellation. Keep the volume at a comfortable level; the app includes a maximum-loudness limit for hearing safety.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above. If a change ever involved collecting data, we would ask for your consent in the app first.
